This is Sally Thull, giving you the latest from the city of Generica.
Biggest news today was the attempted kidnapping of mayor Ben Griff. The mayor was kidnapped from his home last night by a super-powered individual said to possibly wielding cosmic energy. The Police chief, David Harris, has warned civilians from approaching the individual and all are advised to contact the police if he is spotted. He is said to be wearing a soiled grey jumpsuit. It has also been revealed that the individual appears to be working alongside a being of demonic power and the self proclaimed goblin 'king' known only as Steve. It has now been announced that the Goblin King was involved in the foiled bank robbery earlier today. The mayor was apparently released relatively unharmed by these miscreants however he was bound up in a lamppost. The cosmic being is also believed to have unleashed some form of 'death ray' on the mayoral estate, the police have yet to released an official statement on the matter but the death count is believed to be around 15. The mayor's wife was fortunately not on the estate at the time of the incident, having been removed after the kidnapping. The Stalwart Seven are believed to be working closely with Balsheen ambassadors to combat this new cosmic being threat. The public have been asked to remain calm.
In other news, an attack on the Generica City Museum has left many exhibits and the building damaged. Police responded to the incident of what appeared to be of a super powered nature. There has been no official statement from the museum and it has yet to be confirmed if the attack was a deliberate heist or merely random megalomania. Blasheen ambassador Krilta is working closely with police and museum staff on the issue. The museum was holding an exclusive exhibition of Balsheen culture and artefacts, including a Darkglass energy nod and the Crystalline Rose diamond. this reporter was lucky enough to be there at the time of the incident. Video evidence suggests that the same individual who kidnapped the mayor was responsible for the destruction of the Museum and Museum Road. There have also been reports of what is believed to have been hellfire seen within the museum itself. Readers will remember the Demon Incident with the Stalwart Seven six months ago. There have also been reports that some of the security guards in the museum were eaten by goblins and that the Goblin King's calling sign was seen near the museum before the attack. Police urge anyone with more information to contact the secure hotline.

Welcome to Gernerica!
Welcome citizen to the Secrets of Generica! This blog about the setting, characters and other useful bits of information for a Mutants and Masterminds game.
The City
Generica, or Generic Ville as the residents lovingly call it is a medium sized city. It gained its quirky name due to the unfortunate wording of a former mayor. The city used to suffer greatly from natural disasters, unnatural disasters, superheroes, alien invasions and so on to the point where the city was being rebuilt almost every week. when the mayor of the time was asked what he wanted for the new city that time he said:
"I don't care, just give me a generic city! It'll be gone by next Wednesday."
However, fate decided to spare the new city and so Generica was created. The city lives up to its name by being the most generic city you could find with almost all amenities and facilities contained within it. Neighboring cities include Stonewater City and Brush Town.
The current mayor of Genrica is Ben Griff. This 46 year old former chemist is a well built man, slightly above average height. He has blue eyes and short strawberry blond hair that is thinning. He has an eye for the pretty ladies, much to the annoyance of his wife, Margret. He is annoyed by any scheme he considers to be 'overly elaborate' and craves the adoration of the masses.
The city is guarded for lack of a better word by the superhero group The Stalwart Seven. This is odd as anyone can tell you because the team only has six members: The group leader and young genius Paul Grayson - the Grey Mech, the mysterious mystic Desert Rose, Stopwatch - the man with a suit that lets him alter the flow of time around him, an ambassador from the alien planet of Balsheen - Triclops, Jack Weaver -a man of unknown talents yet reports believe him to be a shapeshifter and finally the latest addition to the team the hellfire-breathing demon known only as Demona.
It is wildly known that the Seven operate out of the Greystone and Summers building, which is co owned by Paul Grayson and Director Mark Summers of military RandD. IT is also widely known that the two don't get along and its only a matter of time before the 22 year old buys Director Summers out.
But a city always has its bad to fight against the good. Those that work in the shadows to bring them down, or sometimes not in the shadows at all and revel in destruction and chaos. Those that seek nothing more that power and to take over the city. And after that, THE WORLD! MUHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
And that is were the game begins....
